New ideas, midsummer, visitors and Stockholm summer

Recently I have began working more in watercolours. I really like watercolours because they are vibrant and give a great textur, plus they dry quicker than acrylics! I bought some cute Moleskine watercolour notebooks which I am totally in love with and have been working on some new ideas for patterns. I hope to get them underway soon for show and tell and for my portfolio.

I also thought that it might be a good idea (and a sign of a proper artist?) to do a watercolour reference sheet so I could look at it when deciding which colours to choose and this has helped me plan my paintings a better. Plus it was actually alot of fun.

It has so far been a summer of midsummer celebrations in the swedish countryside, visitors in the form of my niece and her boyfriend which was really nice and we got to go to Gröna lund and watch them go on the really fast and scary rides and general enjoyment of this wonderful city at this time of the year which has included walks and Pimms!

Have nice week,

“Happy flowers in a retro vase” in the Etsy shop!

Here is another new painting that I have just posted for sale in my Etsy shop. It is painted using watercolour and acrylic paint and has some lovely details which I created using my rotring pens and ink.

2 3 1

The painting is inspired by a lovely retro vase that I saw and some colourful and happy flowers. I hope that this painting can brighten up someone’s home soon and you can find it for sale here. Have a nice afternoon.
