Hi! My name is Claire and I am an artist, illustrator and surface pattern designer. Originally from Nottingham, UK I now live and work in Stockholm, Sweden.
I describe my work as colourful and unique. The main materials that I use in my paintings are watercolour paints and ink. I love working with colour and adding the small details to my work.
I studied art and design at college and went on to complete a BA hons in Textile design from Nottingham Trent University in the UK. There I fell in love with painting, screen printing, making patterns and flowers.
A little bit about my process…
First I get inspired! Everything from flea markets, nature, going on walks around the city, visiting cafes and having “fika” with friends. When an idea strikes I write it down and sketch it out roughly in my sketch book. I then select the colours I want to use and paint out the idea to the size I think is best, mainly A5, A4 and A3. When the paint has dried I use my rotring pens to add the black ink details which give the piece delicacy and detail. Sometimes I make patterns and develop ideas in Photoshop and Illustrator but mainly I work traditionally using watercolour and ink.
If you are interested in buying any of my paintings or would like to work together on a project or exhibition please get in touch with me via the contact page.
